Husky Terminal Prepares for the Future of Big Ship Ready!
February 26, 2018, Husky Terminal receives 4 new Super Post Panamax ship-to-shore container quay cranes in another step forward by Husky to be Big Ship ready. The new cranes are designed to accommodate the largest container vessels in the world, with outreaches capable of 24 rows and a lift height of 50 meters above the pier. These cranes will be immediately deployed into operation as they are commissioned – the entire process is expected to be completed July of 2018.
The addition of these new gantries is yet another initiative taken by Husky as a part of its Massive terminal redevelopment plan to invest in Tacoma. The New Cranes will be positioned on the newly developed pier that is part of a berth straightening project at the northwest end of Tacoma’s Blair Waterway. The cranes are the first of two incremental shipments, the second delivery of 4 more Super-Post Panamax ship-to-shore container quay cranes is planned for 2019.
Husky currently provides high quality service to the THE Alliance.
